Algae study could drop Valley power bills

[USA] Energy bills for some Valley customers could be going down thanks to a new study.

Salt River Project (SRP) and Arizona State University (ASU) are working together to see if algae can capture carbon dioxide from flue gas at coal and natural gas power plants.

Flue gas is the waste product that is emitted from the plant.

Algae grown naturally at one of the generating stations is taken to a lab at ASU where students and researchers simulate power plant emissions.
