19th century seaweed album inspires children’s holiday activities at National Museum of Australia

[Australia] Slimy seaweed wrapped around your legs is not much fun on a visit to the beach.

But seaweed makes beautiful art — as children at an NMA holiday activity have discovered.

A 19th century seaweed album compiled by collector Charles Morrison is on display at the museum during the school holidays.

Louise Maher joined the children as they viewed the precious book and started work on their own nature journals.
