THREE villages in Macuata, Vanua Levu will soon reap the rewards of their labour when their seaweed farms mature early next month.
Acting principal fisheries officer Northern Joji Vakawaletabua… this morning said the harvest would be the second batch of seaweed to be harvested this year.
He said the villagers of Namuka, Kavewa and Lakeba were expected to rake in a substantial amount of money from the harvest.
The project, initiated by the Fisheries Department, aims at providing villagers with a quick way of generating income to help improve their livelihood.
