The province says it’s safe to swim at most Manitoba beaches this weekend.
In its weekly beach press release, the province says an algal bloom on Dauphin Lake at Sifton Beach tested above the guideline and is warning swimmers to keep an eye out for the blue-green scum…
The advisory is one step below warning people to stay away from the water entirely due to the concentration of algal blooms.
The province said the water at Sifton Beach was below the guideline for its concentration of algal toxin. Also, water testing at lakes the province monitors this week has shown that levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli) were within recreational water quality guidelines.
