GOWER-BASED business Selwyn’s Seaweed has won British retail magnate Theo Paphitis’s Small Business Sunday initiative.
The company, which currently employs three people, sells crispy seaweed snacks and launched a factory in Llanmorlais last week.
Kate Jones, who runs the business with her husband Ashley, said the business would look to take on more staff once it got on its feet.
“It was a complete surprise,” she said. Thousands of people apply for it each week. For him to choose use as one of his six is a real honour. All of a sudden my Twitter went absolutely crazy.”
Selwyn’s Seaweed sells three flavours, using local ingredients.
