The 3rd EABA, EC Algae Contractors’ Conference & 10th International Algae Congress

[Global, EU] Five months to go! Between December 13 and 15, we hope to meet you in Madrid for AlgaEurope 2016. Yes, it may seem like a long time, but nonetheless we seem to be on your minds, as we´ve received quite some questions along the line of ´when does registration open?’

The set prices for a three-day entrance to the conference at €795,-, or €405,- if you are an EABA-member, student, or speaker. But, you can of course already submit your abstract! Check out for more information.

Keynote Speaker: Stefan Kraan of Ocean Harvest

Dr. Stefan Kraan of Ocean Harvest will be one of the key note speakers at AlgaEurope 2016. In his presentation, he will go into reducing the use of antibiotics in animal farming by using seaweeds. Ocean Harvest Technology (OHT) is an Irish limited company founded in 2005 by Dr Stefan Kraan and Patrick Martin. Ocean Harvest has recently completed its new R&D and administration headquarters in Galway, Ireland and its new manufacturing, distribution and sales branch in Vietnam.

Session 8:
Production and exploitation
Session 9:
Achieving large scale industrial deployment
Session 10:
Algae and the Novel Food Regulation in Europe
Moving algal products to the mainstream

Progress with CEN/BT WG 218 ‘Algae’

We cordially invite you to submit your abstract online via, in line with one of the sessions mentioned above. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words and are to be submitted in English. Please indicate if you apply for an oral or poster presentation. The deadline for submitting an abstract is September 1st, 2016.

The AlgaEurope 2016 Scientific Committee will select abstracts fit for oral presentations, and distribute them according to their topic among the different sessions of the program.
